Individual members of the group hold permanent, principal positions in The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of English National Opera, the English Chamber Orchestra and the Royal Ballet Sinfonia. They feature regularly on BBC Radios 2 and 3, and have given several world première performances of music by this country’s foremost contemporary composers.
Also hugely active in the field of music education, the ensemble has conducted numerous workshops and master classes. In keeping with the Festival’s ongoing commitment to education projects, tonight’s all-embracing concert programme by this exceptional group will be preceded by an entertaining afternoon workshop for local schools.
